When I first needed a gyno, I requested a woman, it just felt more comfortable. I saw a female gyno for 8 years, and I stopped seeing her because she would not listen to me.
I started with Jamie/Dr. Ma at a friend's recommendation. Dr. Ma listened to me. When I told him I was still having on going symptoms related to endometriosis, he did not tell me I was wrong- he listened, we talked about treatment options, the possibility that the symptoms were caused by something else. I'm on the 2 or 3 treatment option we talked about, and its really helping.
At the end of the day, I need a doctor who will listen to me, and Dr Ma has not only done that, but he told me if I ever feel like he stops, to call him on it.

As of today, I reached out to the nurses with a question-- apparently they can't read? Because the reply I got didn't actually answer any of my questions, implied I thought I was having symptoms from a medication, and that I should see my GP because the meds don't do that.
This is not the first time the nurses have failed to listen or help.

I really like Dr. Ma. The nursing staff needs to learn to hear the patients.

I love his practice. Jamie and Barb are great as well. Getting in to be seen pregnant or not doesn’t ever seem like it was an inconvenience for there office. They make everyone feel safe and are attentive to the patient as a whole.
My delivery with Dr Ma was great. He’s very informative and honestly cares for baby/mom and dad which is rare it seems like these days. 10/10 would recommend his office.

I left my old OB and came here to Dr. Ma and his team. I had a great experience with my pregnancy, and would recommend him and his team!

Dr. Ma, Jamie, Erin & Barb are excellent!! I seen Barb for my initial pregnancy confirmation for my 3rd baby, was followed all throughout for my 2nd & 3rd by Jamie, Erin is fairly new but very experienced & Dr. Ma delivered both my 2nd & 3rd babies. He is a straight shooter & has a great personality. He helped me get pregnant, stay pregnant after many complications and worked closely with Maternal Fetal. My birthing experiences were very different yet perfect in their own way (baby #2 was 1lb and not expected to make it & baby #3 was 9lbs and he helped me vback like I really wanted). All of the other ladies that work there are awesome too, especially Lizzy! If you're looking for an OBGYN & a great team, I HIGHLY endorse trusting this incredible team of talented providers!

I usually don’t go out of my way to post reviews or even make a post about my personal experience at any sort of establishment, but after the experience I’ve had over the past 2 years, I felt as though it needed to be said. Long story short.. and many details excluded.. This office lacks basic communication, being sincere and supportive to those who are experiencing a loss, & never having any sort of a personable relationship with anyone there. you are treated as a statistic rather than an individual, and there no respect for you or your emotions when it comes to losing a baby. The people here have personalities of rocks. My husband and I have been through SO much the last two years with trying to have a baby of our own, and went to this office with high hopes. After numerous let downs, as well as reoccurring miscarriages, false hopes, and little to no help or advice/guidance I finally have decided to switch OB’s, and was given more answers at my first appointment with the new office then I’ve ever been given in my time with Ma’s office. There truly aren’t enough words to describe the amount of disappointment, anger, and frustration I feel, after having wasted two years of my life going here. Only to still end up with no child of my own. The lack of communication, and the way you are treated while going through something that’s extremely difficult is just sad. You’re constantly pushed off onto “Providers” who are not your doctor, as well as having to explain your medical history/story every time you step foot in this place is ridiculous. No one listens to your concerns or takes you seriously if you’re not carrying a healthy pregnancy. You’re told to “Go home and prepare for what’s next.” There is no individuality, & if you do not meet whatever chart it is they are looking at, then it’s not good enough for them. So many things are left undone, or unanswered. And no one seems to care. Its extremely unprofessional, and I will never recommend anyone looking for an OB to this office.

I have been seeing Dr. Lindsey Ma for approximately 3 years, my appointment today will be my last with Dr. Ma and this office. My first encounter with Dr. Ma I was very impressed with his competency and skill level. I found his bedside manner to be a bit odd, he does not inform you of what he is doing as he is doing it, ie breast exams and paps, he will carry a casual conversation while gesturing and moving you into the necessary positions, examples of this; pressing you gently backwards by the shoulders to indicate he wants you to lie back as opposed to verbalizing the request, manipulating your arms/moving your gown out of his way while preforming the screenings.) I personally do not mind this, but many patients would potentially take issue with it and prefer to be informed of what is happening before having hands placed on and instruments inserted into their reproductive organs. At a previous appointment, my nexplanon implant was causing severely painful cystic acne and excessive hair loss. Dr. Ma insisted the implant couldn't be causing the issues, I insisted he remove it and he did, the acne completely cleared within 3 weeks of the removal and my hair has made a full recovery in density and thickness since the removal. I denied wanting an oral contraceptive, he prescribed it anyway. I didn't think much of this.
Today's appointment was markedly different from my past appointments with Dr. Ma. He questioned me for roughly 10 minutes about my mental health, who I was seeing and how it was being handled, causing me to need to repeat myself multiple times attempting to assure Dr. Ma that it is actively being addressed by professionals trained in the correct field. After this bizarre interaction where he made several rude and unprofessional statements, he shifted direction and began interrogating me about my personal choice to not use any form of hormonal birth control, going on a bit of a rant spouting statistics regarding pregnancy and condoms, going as far as to say that falling pregnant during this time of my life is the last thing I need. His odd statements and behavior during this visit sparked my curiosity, I asked if I were to happen to fall pregnant does he or anyone in the office perform DNC's, which he recoiled at the mention of, and quickly exclaimed "I don't do abortions" in an elevated harsh tone. I smiled, nodded, and said "Okay, thank you for informing me." He begins to go on another strange tirade about his views of abortion not being a "good preventative form of birth control" to which I agreed, stating by definition abortion is not preventative. He again became a bit confrontational, saying I didn't give him a chance to elaborate on his views, to which I responded that I did not need or wish to know his personal views on the matter, I feel that would be a broach of professionalism in the Doctor-Patient relationship, and that a simple yes or no would suffice. Overall Dr. Ma is a very competent doctor, but his bedside manner, interpersonal skills, and emotional regulation leave much to be desired.
I am giving two stars only because Dr. Ma has consistently preformed very quick and relatively painless paps & screenings.
I would not trust this man to see me through a pregnancy and delivery.
From reading the reviews left by others, and my own experience over several visits with Dr. Ma, the care received by his patients seems to vacillate wildly depending on his mood in that moment, as another reviewer described and I would agree with, he is quite emotional and seems unable to separate those emotions from his work. Sitting in a doctors office while feeling as if I was having a conversation with a belligerent, overly-opinionated teenager was a very surreal experience, and definitely a first for me. I cannot comfortably and confidently recommend Dr. Ma to any women in the peoria area, unless you are only looking for routine checkups and happen to have very thick skin to where you don't mind the possibility of the doctor making bizarre, unprofessional statements and lines of questioning.

Terrible doctor. He walked into my room, as I was experiencing a traumatic medical problem, and started giving me the report for the wrong patient. He then failed to call in lab work, after saying he would do so, which led to a nightmare of paperwork and a wild goose chase. He gave me zero guidance regarding what I should expect with this emergency, when I needed to seek emergency help, or what any next step would be. If you want to have your pain and concerns mansplained to you by someone who sees you as an obstacle and an inconvenience at the end of the day, Dr. Ma is an amazing choice. If you want any sort of sympathy, kindness, or actual medical advice, I would suggest someone else.

2nd time this doctor has ignored my birth control refill request for a week. I'm no longer on the pill because neither the doctor nor the pharmacy contacted me to inform me my refill is not approved. I found out when I left my house to pick it up. I'm getting a new doctor because repeatedly denying birth control when there are no pills left in the pack is a very dangerous game.

I usually have Jamie perform the exam/pap smear/consultation. She's great. She's friendly, gentle, quick, and understanding. As for Dr. Ma, I don't trust him as he has repeatedly failed to approve my prescription refill or even contact me in a timely manner to inform me of any reason for denial.
